Mimi mars, sister to Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee says the family never thought the ‘Nadeka’ hitmaker would become a mum.
Speaking during an interview with Millard Ayo, Mimi Mars says she is so excited to be an aunt.
“We never thought Vanessa would be a mum in this day and age, it’s not her thing.
It was very unexpected.”
Adding, “I was recently in Atlanta for a vacation and to spend time with the family. I did not post that because I like keeping my family private.
But I was so excited to see baby seven, you would think he is my son. She (Vanessa) never had plans to get married.
She told me that at the time she had not met the one. Rotimi brought so much change into her life, something we never expected.
Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee became depressed after welcoming her firstborn child.
Vanessa expressed her story to help new mums going through the same.

Addressing her fans, the ‘Niroge’ hitmaker said the postpartum depression took a toll on her despite the support she is getting from her partner, Rotimi.
“A lot of people don’t know the struggles of postpartum depression and .depression and what it is like being a new mum. They don’t know that I have had my struggles with depression. I think it is something that needs to be talked about more. Even if you have the great support of an amazing partner, I wanna share my journey with you,” an emotional Vanessa Mdee shared.
Vanessa hinted she will hold a white wedding with her fiance Rotimi.
She announced the news to her fans after she shared the video clip of Rotimi’s song ‘I do’ saying it will be their wedding song.
The new mum added that she is enjoying the company of her lover.
“Love is beautiful. This song makes you wanna walk down the aisle and get married to your person. Tag the love of your life, Thank you @rotimi we now have our wedding song.”
Rotimi and Vanessa welcomed a son in September 2021.
The ‘Power’ actor and Tanzanian singer both shared a photo of their hands gently holding that of their baby as they revealed his name in a social media post.
The name of their baby boy is, “Seven Adeoluwa Akinosho”.
Rotimi and Vanessa got engaged in December 2020.
