JCM

The recent wave of resignations at Jesus Christ Compassion Ministries (JCM) has stirred conversations among followers, and now Reverend Joy Benson, the wife of preacher Ben Kiengei, appears to have shared a quiet but meaningful response.

Without directly mentioning anyone, Joy posted a message on social media that many believe was directed at members who recently stepped down from the church.

The situation began shortly after William Ruto visited the church and pledged KSh 8 million in support of its activities. The visit sparked mixed reactions both within and outside the congregation.

One of the first leaders to leave was Pastor Charles Wachira, who has been leading a branch of the church in the United States. He explained that the church needed to remain sensitive to the struggles many Kenyans, especially young people, are facing. According to him, welcoming political leaders in such a tense period could be misunderstood by the public.

Soon after, the church’s administrator, James Wa Makumbi, also announced that he was stepping down. He shared that he had spent time reflecting deeply before making the decision.

Makumbi said he had supported Kiengei’s vision since the early days of the ministry and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as an administrator for nearly five years. He added that both he and his family would no longer continue serving at JCM.

Amid the growing discussions, Joy Benson posted photos of herself praying during a period of fasting and reflection.

In her message, she wrote that difficult times often reveal who truly stands with you. She added that while many may leave, a few loyal people would remain, and God would continue to work through them.

Her words quickly caught the attention of followers online. Some encouraged her to stay focused on faith, while others suggested that the church should also reflect on the reasons behind the departures.

For now, the conversation around JCM continues as members and observers watch how the ministry moves forward.
