Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has surprised many Kenyans by revealing that he had thought about leaving politics completely.

Speaking during the Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Conference held today at the Jockey Club in Nairobi, Uhuru said he had planned to announce his retirement from politics at the event.

According to Uhuru, the past few years have been difficult. He faced court battles, leadership struggles within Jubilee, and pressure from different political groups.

At one point, he felt tired and ready to step away from public life. “I was ready to go home,” he said. “I had even prepared my speech to say goodbye.”

However, Uhuru changed his mind after seeing the challenges facing the Jubilee Party. He said he realized that the party still needed strong leadership to rebuild and prepare for future elections.

The recent court ruling that returned control of Jubilee to his team gave him hope and energy to continue.

During the conference, Uhuru led discussions on how to improve the party’s constitution, policies, and plans.

He also encouraged unity among members and promised to guide Jubilee through the upcoming by-elections and beyond.

Many delegates welcomed his decision to stay. They said Uhuru’s experience and leadership are important for the party’s future.

Today’s meeting marks a new beginning for Jubilee—and for Uhuru Kenyatta, who has chosen to stay in the political arena a little longer.
