Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has attracted attention online after new photographs showing him at a high-profile wedding reception surfaced on social media.
The images were shared by corporate MC and event host MC Donga, who posted them on Instagram on Monday, August 17, 2026.
In the photographs, Donga is seen dressed smartly in a suit and hat while interacting with Uhuru, who appeared relaxed and cheerful during the indoor event.
One image captured the two men shaking hands, while another showed them engaged in a friendly conversation at the venue.
Donga accompanied the post with a message based on Proverbs 22:29, celebrating the opportunity to interact with a former head of state.
The Bible verse speaks about a person who is skilled at their work eventually standing before kings, a message Donga appeared to connect with his career as an MC and event host.
Former Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi was also reportedly present at the wedding, adding to the interest surrounding the gathering.
The private event appeared to bring together personalities from Kenya’s political, business and social circles, although details about the couple who were getting married were not immediately provided in the social media posts.
Uhuru’s appearance generated particular interest because the former president has maintained a relatively low public profile since completing his second and final term in office in September 2022.
The former president has, however, continued to make occasional public appearances, particularly at social, political and regional events.
The photographs had also circulated on social media before Donga’s post, with some users sharing and commenting on the images.
Reports that some of the original posts were later removed only added to the online curiosity, as copies of the photographs continued circulating.
Donga’s followers responded positively to the images, with several congratulating him for meeting the former president and praising his career achievements.
The appearance therefore became more than a simple wedding moment, with the photographs giving Kenyans a rare glimpse of Uhuru in a relaxed social setting away from the political spotlight.
