Ugly scenes have been witnessed in Kisii town ,which is among counties in Nyanza region as police officers and locals comprised of lawyers engage up and down. This comes barely few hours to anticipated ‘Saba saba’ demonstration led by Azimio boss Raila Odinga and Azimio top guns.
According to available sources of news shared by a local TV stations know as @ Kisii Hot TV, this evening police officers from Kisii Central Police Station were forced lob teargas at charged crowd,which stage demonstration.
The lawyers have accused the police officers for disrupting their demonstrations even after being given a notice early. More details reveal that the lawyers mainly demonstrated demanding removal of Charles Ayienda from the office of Land Registrar in Kisii.
They have demanded that the land Registrar Charles must be removed from office. Not only that,they have also accused Hon Osoro for threatening them earlier for staging protests.
However,its wrong that police officers can be used disrupt peaceful protests even after being given a notice. Our democracy has already matured and intimidations should be a thing of the past.
