American actor and musician Tyrese Gibson has offered to help Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, meet his longtime celebrity crush, Beyoncé.
Gibson made the playful promise on Friday, August 28, 2026, after visiting Uganda and meeting Muhoozi and members of his family.
The Hollywood star, known for his role in the Fast & Furious film franchise, used a social media post to praise Muhoozi while reflecting on his visit to the East African country.
Gibson said he initially knew Muhoozi mainly as the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni but left the country with a different impression of the military commander.
He praised Muhoozi’s military career and cited his training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the US Army Command and General Staff College, the US Army Airborne School and the South African National Defence College.
Gibson also highlighted what he described as Muhoozi’s philanthropic efforts, particularly initiatives associated with the MK Fund that support children battling cancer, vulnerable communities and young entrepreneurs.
The visit also appears to have opened discussions beyond entertainment.
Gibson said he and Muhoozi discussed possible opportunities involving tourism, Uganda’s natural attractions, hotels, restaurants, retail, entertainment, employment and investment.
The actor suggested that he was interested in exploring business opportunities in Uganda rather than simply making a celebrity visit.
He said he hoped future projects could create a meaningful impact for Ugandans and described his approach as working to “shift culture” through partnerships and memoranda of understanding.
But the most light-hearted part of Gibson’s message concerned Beyoncé.
Addressing Muhoozi directly, the actor invited him to visit Los Angeles and promised to use his connections to try to introduce him to the American superstar.
Gibson jokingly referred to Beyoncé as his “sister” and said he would do everything within his power to arrange an introduction.
He also played along with Muhoozi’s well-known public fascination with the singer, joking that “a soldier’s heart desires to meet Beyoncé.”
Muhoozi’s interest in Beyoncé is not new.
In December 2024, he publicly joked on X about how long he would have to wait for the singer and asked whether she knew how many cows he had, referencing the traditional East African practice of paying bride price.
In March 2025, Muhoozi took the joke further by mentioning Beyoncé’s husband, rapper Jay-Z.
He wrote that Jay-Z could do whatever he wanted to him but insisted that he wanted Beyoncé, before jokingly challenging the rapper to a duel.
Those remarks drew attention online because of Muhoozi’s senior position in Uganda’s military and the unusually personal nature of his comments about the internationally famous singer.
Gibson’s latest promise has now added a new twist to the long-running social-media joke.
Whether the proposed introduction will ever happen remains uncertain, but Gibson’s message has given Muhoozi’s famous Beyoncé crush another moment in the spotlight.
For now, the unusual connection between a Hollywood star, a Ugandan military commander and one of the world’s biggest music icons remains largely a playful social-media exchange.
