A family in Ndutu area is demanding justice after their relative, Beatrice, was allegedly killed by her husband, Peter Ngeno, following a domestic fight.

The body of Beatrice was found in their house on Monday morning. According to neighbours, there were loud screams and sounds of a struggle coming from the house the previous night. “We heard loud noises, then everything went silent. The next day, we received the sad news,” said one neighbour.

Police say the incident may have been triggered by an argument involving accusations of infidelity. Peter is suspected of strangling Beatrice during the altercation.

The couple had been married for several years but neighbours say they had frequent fights. “They were always quarreling. Sometimes we feared it would end badly,” said another resident.

Beatrice’s family is now calling on the authorities to take quick action and ensure justice is served. “Dada yetu aliuliwa na tunataka haki itendeke,” said one of her relatives during a press briefing outside the police station.

Peter Ngeno has since been arrested and is being held at the local police station as investigations continue. Police say they are collecting more evidence and speaking to witnesses.

The body of Beatrice was taken to the county hospital mortuary for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.

The community has expressed shock and sadness over the incident, calling on couples to seek peaceful ways of resolving their issues instead of resorting to violence.
