Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has raised questions over the planned arraignment of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, even as reports emerge that he has been transferred to Mbagathi Hospital.

Speaking during an interview on KTN, Maanzo challenged the basis of the alleged offence of providing misleading information to authorities, arguing that such a charge must clearly identify the specific official who was misled.

“They say they will arraign Tuju in court for the so-called offence of giving misleading information from a person in authority. It means there must be a person in authority who was allegedly lied to, and we just need to identify that person,” Maanzo stated.

The senator’s remarks come amid ongoing developments surrounding Tuju’s case, which has attracted significant public attention.

Maanzo further revealed that Tuju had reportedly been moved from Karen Police Station to Mbagathi Hospital, expressing hope that he would receive proper medical attention.

“I am told that Raphael Tuju has been moved from the station to Mbagathi Hospital, and a motorcycle has followed them. We are hopeful that the doctors will take good care of him,” he added.
