A 68 year old woman is set to marry her former husband again after their relationship survived divorce, serious illness and a long period of uncertainty.
The woman, identified as Carmel Langdon, reportedly met 35 year old Carlos Lugo before the two eventually got married in August 2020.
Their relationship attracted attention because of their 33 year age difference, but the couple went ahead with their marriage and built a life together.
However, their relationship later faced a difficult period after Langdon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.
She underwent several medical procedures during her treatment, including a mastectomy. She later faced another health challenge after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer and underwent further treatment.
The difficult experience reportedly affected Langdon’s confidence and her view of her marriage.
She began questioning whether Lugo would continue to be attracted to her and reportedly felt that the younger man deserved to have a partner closer to his age.
The concerns eventually contributed to the end of their marriage, with the couple divorcing in April 2024.
Despite officially going their separate ways, the two did not completely walk away from each other.
Lugo continued staying on Langdon’s property, where he lived in a garden cabin. Their continued closeness reportedly left friends wondering why they had remained part of each other’s lives despite their divorce.
According to the report, friends eventually spoke to the two separately and encouraged them to address their feelings towards each other.
The conversations appear to have played a role in bringing the former couple closer again.
In July, Langdon and Lugo reportedly rekindled their relationship and decided to give their marriage another chance.
The couple have since started preparations for their second wedding, with paperwork reportedly completed at the register office.
