Agnes Shibeka, a woman from Trans Nzoia County, has sadly passed away just one week after returning home from Saudi Arabia, where she worked for four years.
Her family is now heartbroken as they prepare for her burial instead of celebrating her long-awaited return.
Agnes had spent four challenging years in Saudi Arabia, where she faced homesickness and the difficulties of working abroad.
She was excited to reunite with her family in Murguiywa village and had big plans for her future. However, shortly after arriving home, she fell ill and died after a brief illness.
Family members described how Agnes was full of life and eager to reconnect with her loved ones.
Erick Barasa Busolo, a relative, shared that Agnes was looking forward to improving her family’s living conditions with the money she had sent home during her years of hard work.
“She was so happy to be home. We had plans to celebrate her return, but now we are planning her burial,” a family member expressed with sorrow.
The news of Agnes’s death has shocked her local community and her friends from Team Gulf Club, a support group for Kenyans working in the Middle East.
Many of her friends took to social media to express their grief and share heartfelt memories of her.
One friend posted, “Our hearts are broken. Team Strong has rested. My condolences to Team Gulf Club and family.”
