According to witnesses, the boy had been playing near the riverbank when he decided to enter the water. However, the current proved too strong, and he quickly found himself in distress. His friends, unable to help, raised an alarm, prompting the immediate response of two nearby GSU officers.

In a courageous rescue attempt, the officers jumped into the river to save the drowning child. Tragically, despite their best efforts, they too were overpowered by the force of the water. Moments later, all three had succumbed to the treacherous currents, marking a devastating loss for their families and the community.

Local authorities arrived swiftly at the scene and commenced recovery operations.

Police have urged the public to exercise caution near rivers, especially during the rainy season when water levels rise unpredictably.
