A tragic incident took place in Shimultola on Barisal-Patuakhali highway under Nalchity Upazila on Thursday morning where a speeding bus hit two people, including a schoolboy, killing them on the spot. The deceased were identified as Turjya Bhattacharjya, a tenth grader of Bhutto High School, and Md. Akash, a van driver.

According to Md. Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Nalchity Police Station, Turjya was conversing with van driver Akash in front of his school when the bus struck them, resulting in their untimely demise. This tragic incident has left the community in shock and grief.

The loss of such a young life is heart-wrenching, and it is understandable that the students and locals of the area were enraged and blocked the road for two hours, demanding justice. It is essential that the authorities take strict action against the bus driver and ensure that justice is served to the families of the deceased.
