Today in the morning, reports have emerged that a top Mount Kenya leader has been arrested by detectives from DCI and EACC. This leader is none other than Hon Peter Ndambiri, the former deputy governor of Kirinyaga county.
According to KTN News, Ndambiri who has been government’s critic was arrested over corruption and abuse office. It is said that the former DG is waiting to be arraigned in court to answer this case.
“Former Kirinyaga deputy governor Peter Ndambiri detained at EACC Nyeri offices pending arraignment over alleged corruption and abuse of office.” Reads part of the report published by KTN News.
His arrest comes in at a time when governor George Natembeya has been taken to EACC headquarters. Natembeya is facing a corruption scandal worth 1.4 billion. However, this arrest has been described as political witch aunt against those leaders who are against the government. Rigathi Gachagua also faced an arrest yesterday.
