“Tomorrow is Police Day Friday.” Eric Omondi Calls on All Policemen To Recommit To Serving And Protecting The People
According to Eric Omondi, after yesterday’s protest, 11 people lost their lives, and over 400 sustained gunshot injuries due to police exercising excessive force. As the son of a police officer, he has urged every police officer to recommit to their duty of serving and protecting people’s lives.
He has asked all officers to record a video and post it on social media with the hashtags #ServeAndProtect, #UtumishiKwaWote, and #DaimaMkenya.
Eric also shared that his father was the late Chief Inspector and Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Omondi. He noted that his father advanced through the ranks, starting as a constable and rising to the position of OCS.
The public figure added that police brutality has surged at an alarming rate since June 2024, when about 60 members of Generation Z lost their lives after being shot.
