Geoffrey Chesoni, a popular TikTok user, has narrated a chilling account of how he was taken by force in Mombasa by armed men believed to be state agents.

He says he was grabbed in broad daylight by seven men in a Subaru who fired into the air before speeding off with him.

Chesoni revealed that he was driven to Voi Forest, where the men began torturing him. He says they tied his hands and questioned him for hours, demanding to know who was behind his involvement in the June 25 protests.

He claims they repeatedly threatened to kill him and leave his body in the wild, mentioning past victims as a warning.

According to him, the group constantly communicated with someone on the phone, giving updates throughout the ordeal. Chesoni said their appearance and behavior did not resemble that of normal police officers. They showed him badges without names, only marked “Police Service.”

After the ordeal in the forest, Chesoni said he was moved to the State House in Mombasa, where threats continued. He was warned to keep silent about what had happened or face serious consequences.

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights has since confirmed 15 disappearances, 179 arrests, over 500 injuries, and 19 deaths linked to the recent protests.

The demonstrations marked the one-year anniversary of the 2024 anti-government protests.

President Ruto has dismissed the protests as destructive and criminal, not peaceful, and has ordered law enforcement to take firm action against those behind any violence or destruction. He insisted that while protests are allowed by law, violence would not be tolerated.
