Foreign athletes have been arriving in the country ahead of the Kipkeino Classics event on Saturday. The event will bring together almost 80 athletes worldwide as they look to make the day a success. However,the event will not only be an entertainment avenue,but athlete’s will take home some huge amounts of money in the process. Today,I will be looking at the huge amounts of money in kenyan shillings that the winners will take home on Saturday.
According to the world athletics organisation, Kipkeino Classics event and other meetings award athletes an amount in US dollars. For Kipkeino Classics, every winner will pocket $6,000 which is an equivalent of Sh.651,000.The amount does not include other bonuses from shoe sponsorship deals per particular athlete.Some of the giant sponsors include Absa Bank and Safaricom. The two will solely sponsor the event. It has also been announced that there will be no gate charges and fans will be allowed to witness the events freely. We can not wait to watch our own bag themselves such a huge amount of money.
