A government pathologist has confirmed that prominent lawyer Kyalo Mbobu died from severe injuries and excessive bleeding following a brutal attack. The confirmation came after a thorough post-mortem examination.
Pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Mbobu was shot eight times during the incident. Two bullets were recovered from his body. The fatal attack occurred on Tuesday evening along Magadi Road in the upscale Karen area of Nairobi.
According to eyewitnesses and police reports, Mbobu was in his car, caught in heavy traffic, when the attackers struck. Two assailants on a motorcycle approached his stationary vehicle and opened fire without warning. The gunmen fled immediately after the shooting, leaving Mbobu critically injured. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident. Detectives and crime scene experts from the DCI Homicide Bureau were dispatched to collect evidence, working alongside specialists from the National Forensic Laboratory. Authorities are following all leads as they attempt to identify and apprehend those responsible.
The family of Matthew Kyalo Mbobu has publicly appealed for swift action from the government and law enforcement agencies. They called for those responsible to be held accountable and urged that justice be delivered without delay.
