Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has reportedly delivered his dowry ahead of his much-anticipated wedding set for Saturday, November 1.The gesture marks a significant step in his traditional marriage rites, showcasing his respect for cultural customs and family values.
The dowry ceremony, which reportedly took place in a private yet colourful event, comes just weeks after Senator Chesang and his long-time partner, Channelle Kittony, held a glamorous engagement celebration that drew attention both locally, online.
Channelle Kittony is currently a member of the County Executive Committee, for Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure in Trans Nzoia County.
She comes from a prominent family with a significant history in leadership and business in the Rift Valley area.
Her father, Kiprono Kittony, is a recognized entrepreneur and a key player in the Kenyan business sector, while her late grandmother, Zipporah Kittony, was a distinguished political figure who served for nearly thirty years.Zipporah Kittony started her political career as a Member of Parliament for the Kenya African National Union (KANU) from 1988 to 2007.
She subsequently became a nominated senator on the KANU platform from 2013 to 2018 and was highly regarded for her role as chairperson of the Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organisation (MYWO).
As preparations for the couple’s wedding progress, excitement is mounting, with many Kenyans looking forward to witnessing the joining of two influential families recognized for their roles in politics and public service.
