Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna has ended her year-long break from releasing music with a new single that takes her sound in a fresh direction.
The singer announced her comeback on August 24, 2026, unveiling “VAI” and sharing a short teaser with her followers on social media. In her announcement, Tanasha described the track as Brazilian funk-inspired, combining energy, tension and chemistry.
“A whole year later & VAI is my comeback,” Tanasha said in the post, encouraging fans to share their views after listening to the preview.

“Poison” later entered the Grammy consideration conversation, with Olivia announcing that the song was being considered in categories including Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
However, Grammy consideration is not the same as securing an official nomination or winning an award, making the achievement a career milestone rather than a Grammy nomination.
Tanasha has also built a strong public profile beyond her music, including her previous work in radio and her highly publicised relationship with Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz.
The former couple share a son, but Tanasha has continued developing her own music career and public identity since their relationship ended.
