For many who know about Lofty Matambo and Fridah Mwaka, then they know that they are top Swahili news anchors in the country.

The duo are arguably among the best in the country, and have wowed many over the years by their mastery of the Swahili language whenever they anchor news bulletins.

This has enabled their news segments to be arguably among the most watched in the country, and if you want to catch a glimpse of them then look no further.

You can watch them every weekend at 7 PM at NTV, where they co-anchor the segment dubbed ‘NTV Wikendi’.

Recently however, Fridah Mwaka and Lofty Matambo have given netizens a glimpse of a side that they never knew about them.

This is the side where the duo can also comfortably anchor English news bulletins if they are given a chance.

This was clear in a recent video that Lofty Matambo shared on his Instagram account, where he and Fridah Mwaka made an appearance at the English news desk of 9 PM, and tried to anchor news in the language.

The two infact anchored the December 2022 news where two people were killed and a house torched by some suspected Al-Shabaab members in Taa Village near Pandaguo in Witu Division, Lamu West.

What was clear is that the two did it impeccably, such that one could easily confuse them to be well-versed English news anchors.
