Residents of Kyasila Village in Machakos County were left in shock early this morning after a group of individuals was allegedly caught performing witchcraft rituals near the home of Governor Wavinya Ndeti.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects were spotted in the early hours of the morning, chanting strange incantations and burning unknown substances at a secluded spot close to the governor’s residence.

Alarmed by the unusual activity, villagers quickly mobilized and confronted the group.

What followed, according to locals, was what they humorously described as “a candid and adult conversation” — a polite euphemism for a community-administered beating — before the suspects were handed over to the police.

Machakos County Police Commander confirmed the incident, stating that the individuals are currently in custody as investigations continue to determine their intentions and whether there was any direct threat to the governor’s safety.

“We received reports from the public about suspicious individuals conducting what appeared to be ritual activities near the governor’s home. Our officers acted swiftly, and the suspects are now being interrogated,” the commander said.

Villagers, still puzzled by the morning’s events, claim that this is not the first time strange activities have been reported in the area.

“Hawa wanaroga hadi serikali! (They’re even bewitching the government now!),” one resident exclaimed, expressing disbelief at how brazen the suspects were to carry out such acts near a top government official’s home.

Governor Wavinya Ndeti has not issued an official statement on the incident, but her security detail is said to have enhanced surveillance around her residence.

Police have urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands, promising a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the bizarre incident.
