A standard eight pupil has exposed the serial killer who murdered his mother at they’re home in Kirinyaga.
The individual identified as Samuel Mumo Ngari was confirmed by the victim’s Grade 8 son during an identification parade held at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI.
The child, who witnessed the brutal attack on his mother, informed detectives that he recognized Ngari shortly after the incident, as he was wearing the same clothes.
Investigators revealed that Ngari, employed as a watchman at local miraa farms, visited the residence of Sarafina Wanja, a widow, on the night of Saturday, June 13, around 10:00 p.m.
The suspect reportedly demanded the repayment of a KSh 500 debt.
The victim’s son stated that a dispute arose before Ngari left, only to return at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, to carry out the assault.
After the attack, the boy raised the alarm and reached out to his uncle, James Kimani.
Wanja was taken to Mwea Mission Hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries.
Family members remarked that Wanja had been raising her children in a peaceful manner since the passing of her husband two years prior.
