Sky Victor has openly shared how close she was to her late mother, gospel singer Betty Bayo, and how their relationship shaped her life, dreams, and career.
It’s been about three months since Betty Bayo passed away after a fight with leukaemia.
Her death has left a huge hole in her children’s lives, especially Sky, who said her mother was a major support in everything she did.
In a recent video on her YouTube channel, Sky, a content creator and dancer, talked about how close she was to her mum and how her death affected her.
She explained that she had to take a break from dancing, something she loves, to deal with her grief.
Sky said Betty was her biggest fan, always pushing her to chase her dreams and work hard, even when it was tough.
Now, Sky understands that what she thought was pressure was actually love and belief.
“She was my whole world,” Sky said. “I miss her a lot. She backed me up in everything. When I danced, she was there, giving advice, cheering me on, and pushing me to improve.”
Sky admitted that she sometimes felt stressed, but now she knows her mother saw potential in her that she didn’t see herself. That thought has given her strength.
Despite the pain, Sky is starting to move forward. She said she plans to dance professionally again, feeling stronger and ready to improve. Continuing to chase her dreams feels like a way to honor her mother.
Her story has touched many Kenyans online, with people sending messages of love and support.
As Sky heals, she says talking about her mother helps her cope and reminds her that their love continues.
