Celebrated Kenyan singer, songwriter and vocalist Bien Aimé Baraza was over the weekend overwhelmed with emotions.

This is after his mother Grace Baraza made a surprise appearance at the show dubbed Blankets & Wine, that took place at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.

Well the ‘Short N Sweet’ hit maker happened to be one of the artistes who performed at the event, and his performance was even made more special by his mum surpsing him on stage.

This was clear in the short video clip that Bien shared today on his Instagram account, that captured the moment when Grace Baraza got on stage. She was actually brought by his wife Chiki Kuruka, and she came with a bouquet of flowers which she gave to her son.

What even made it more special was how his mum created some time to go and grace the event despite his dad being sick back home in Kakamega.

Bien was therefore touched because his mother could have just decided not to come to Nairobi and stay in Kakamega to take care of his sick dad. However she decided to come.

In the video, Bien Aimé Baraza also narrates how his mum inspired him to release his latest album dubbed ‘Alusa Why Are You Topless’.

He said that back then when Sauti Sol released the controversial song dubbed ‘Nishike’, he got a call from Grace Baraza who said ‘Alusa, why are you topless?’. Bien Aime then picked up that line and used it on his album.

Before narrating the story, the ‘Melanin’ hit maker had even officially introduced his mum to his fans and all were wowed by the special moment.

The mother and son also shared a hug and he performed the Luhya song dubbed ‘Awinja’ that he did as part of Sauti Sol years ago.

Bien Aime Baraza also accompanied tye video with a heartwarming caption, where he appreciated his wife who is also his manager Chiki Kuruka for making it all happen.

“Blankets&Wine yesterday was beautiful. It was my 1st show performing the album and my Mum came all the way from Kakamega to surprise me. @chikikuruka thank you for this ❤️.

To the beautiful fans I’m forever grateful to you all for walking this journey with me. The album has barely been out for a month and you sang the songs word for word. It was spiritual 🌎🍾 🌹❤️🚀🏅” he wrote.
