Sheryl Gabriella has opened up about how she believes her family’s treatment changed after she began earning money, recalling the contrast between her father’s recent burial and the way they were treated when they had little.
Sheryl’s father, Joseph Kipkoech Mutai, died on August 8, 2026, and was laid to rest a week later on August 15.
Speaking during a TikTok Live on Sunday, September 6, Sheryl reflected on the experience and said she wished her followers had been present at the funeral to witness the difference in how she and her family were treated.
According to the content creator, her improved financial position appeared to influence how people interacted with them.
“I wish you guys had followed me to my dad’s burial and seen how well I was being treated because I had small, small money,” Sheryl said.
She went on to compare the reception her family received recently with how they were treated in the past, when they did not have the financial means they have today.
“The way they were treating us is not the same way they treated us way back when we did not have money. They were not treating us the same but the treatment changed because we now have little money,” she said.
Sheryl’s remarks highlighted her perception that financial stability can influence how people view and treat families, particularly when circumstances change.
