Rose bush

A mother from the United States has amazed thousands of people online after sharing what happened two years after she buried her daughter’s placenta beneath a rose bush in her garden.

According to photos shared on Facebook by Allyse Jolie, she decided to bury the placenta shortly after the birth of her daughter and plant a rose bush above it. At the time, she was not sure whether the plant would survive because it was planted during the hot summer season.

To give the plant a good chance of growing, Allyse buried the frozen placenta deep in the soil and covered it with compost. She then planted a bare-root rose bush above it and used organic soil, worm castings, and other natural materials to support healthy growth.

Two years later, the results left her stunned. The rose bush had grown into a healthy and beautiful plant covered with colourful blooms. Photos of the thriving flowers quickly attracted attention on social media, with many people praising the touching way she chose to celebrate her daughter’s birth.

Allyse said she loves the idea that one day her daughter will be old enough to know that the rose bush was planted especially for her. She described the flourishing plant as a meaningful reminder of her child’s arrival and growth.

The practice of burying a placenta beneath a tree, flower, or shrub is followed in several cultures around the world. Many families see it as a symbolic way to connect a child with nature and create a living memorial. Experts note that placentas naturally break down and become organic matter in the soil.
