Betty Bayo

Businesswoman Sarah Mtalii has broken her silence over the ongoing custody dispute involving the late Betty Bayo’s children, Sky and Danny. Speaking with deep emotion, she appealed to Betty’s close friends to step in before the situation causes more emotional pain for the two children.

The disagreement over who should raise the children has remained in the public eye for days. Pastor Victor Kanyari, the children’s biological father, and Betty Bayo’s widower, Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, have both been at the centre of the conversation, with many people taking sides online.

For Sarah, however, the debate is no longer about choosing between the two men. She believes the real focus should be on the children, who are growing up while watching adults argue publicly over their future.

In a video shared on social media, Sarah admitted that the issue has affected her personally. She revealed that the constant discussions about Sky and Danny have left her disturbed and even caused her nightmares because of how much she cared about their late mother.

She explained that while she was away on a trip, every time she checked her phone she found fresh conversations about the children. The endless online exchanges, she said, made her worry about the long-term emotional impact the situation could have on them.

Sarah was quick to make one thing clear. She is neither Team Kanyari nor Team Tash. Instead, she described herself as “Team Sky and Danny,” insisting that the children’s happiness and emotional well-being should come before every other consideration.

According to her, children should never feel caught in the middle of disagreements between adults. She said Sky and Danny have been placed in a difficult position where every choice they make could appear to favour one parent while hurting the other.

She also suggested that the matter may require the involvement of an independent authority. Whether through the courts, child welfare officers or another appropriate institution, Sarah believes decisions should be guided by what is truly best for the children.

Beyond the custody dispute, Sarah expressed concern about the role of social media. She reminded bloggers and content creators that the children are old enough to read what is being written online, warning that careless posts and unverified claims could leave lasting emotional scars.

She urged people to think carefully before sharing information that may influence or confuse the young siblings during such a sensitive period. In her view, protecting the children’s peace is far more important than winning online arguments.

Sarah also called on Betty Bayo’s close friends to meet and discuss how they can support Sky and Danny through this challenging chapter. As the custody case continues, her heartfelt appeal serves as a reminder that behind every headline are two children who simply need love, stability and the chance to grow up away from unnecessary public conflict.
