Kenyan singer and police officer Samidoh is once again in the spotlight—this time, not for his music, but for a post that has raised many eyebrows.
The Mugithi star is facing possible disciplinary action after a video showed him leading a crowd in a chant linked to politics. The chant included the word “wantam,” a term suggesting President William Ruto might not complete a second term. This did not sit well with police bosses.
In response, Samidoh was transferred from the Central Region Police Headquarters to a new post in Gilgil, Nakuru County. He is also being investigated for breaking police rules. Punishment could range from a warning to losing his job, depending on the final decision by the Inspector General.
But just as the news spread, Samidoh posted a photo from the UK. He stood smiling in front of a British police car, wearing casual clothes. His caption was a quote from American leader Thomas Jefferson: “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty!”
Fans quickly reacted. Some joked about his “transfer” to London. Others told him to quit the police and focus on music or even enter politics.
Social media buzzed with comments like, “Apply to join the UK police,” and “You’re ready for Parliament!”
Meanwhile, Samidoh also took time to celebrate his son’s birthday with a touching message. He called the boy a mirror of his younger self and expressed his deep pride.
