Jubilee party secretary general Jeremiah kioni has said that president William Ruto does not have enough numbers in parliament that will enable the impeachment of deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
Noting that impeachment of deputy president needs a majority of the votes both from the national assembly and the Senate.
Mr kioni noted that since DP Gachagua has collected a number of notable allies from UDA,the probability of impeaching deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is very low.
“There’s no number to impeach Ruto or Gachagua in parliament, Ruto understands that he doesn’t have numbers to impeach Gachagua,” Jeremiah kioni said.
The statement by Jeremiah kioni comes at a time when several UDA leaders allied to president William Ruto threatening to table a motion aimed at kick-starting the Gachagua impeachment process.
The statement by Jeremiah kioni also points out the rift building within UDA party leading to an in house battle between president William Ruto allies and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s allies .
