President William Ruto has shared new photos and video from his Naivasha farm, where he inspected a maize crop nearing harvest. The President was dressed in a jacket, jeans and a hat as he walked through the fields examining the crop.

The images show Ruto moving through rows of mature maize and stopping to inspect individual plants. The crop appears to be at an advanced stage of growth.

Ruto has consistently described agriculture as a key pillar of Kenya’s economy. He has also encouraged more Kenyans, especially young people, to invest in farming.

His Naivasha property is known for both crop and livestock farming. The farm forms part of his long-standing investment in commercial agriculture.

The visit comes as the government continues to promote increased agricultural production through subsidised fertiliser, improved seed distribution and farm mechanisation programmes.

The Kenya Kwanza administration has identified agriculture as a key sector in its efforts to strengthen food security and support economic growth.

Ruto has regularly visited his farms over the years to monitor crops and livestock. His latest visit comes as the maize crop approaches harvest.
