President Ruto lectured a Nandi MP following what he suggested about the voter registration.

Speaking yesterday during an event in Nandi, Ruto switched to his local dialect and disclosed what one of the area MP had suggested to him behind the scenes about the voter registration.

“Sometimes I here people here from home saying eerh, I was talking to one of the MPs, I don’t want to say his name so that his reputation isn’t destroyed, he told me ‘Bwana President you know for me whatever the number that votes for me, even it’s only 20000 people, I would have won” President Ruto said when loosely translated from Kalenjin.

According to the President the MP from his home turf told him that the role of mobilizing Kenyans to register is his (Ruto’s) job as he needs more numbers to secure a second term compared to him. Following the suggestion, President Ruto lectured the MP terming him a clueless person who can’t differentiate between yesterday and today. According to the President the same numbers mobilized to register as voters today can be used even after the 2027 general elections to secure a win for another leader in coming elections.

“I looked at him and said here is he, a clueless person who can’t tell between yesterday and today (laughter). Yaani I want to ask you were you told the leadership of Kenya will end with Ruto” President Ruto said as he stressed that the numbers mobilized to register as voters could benefit another leader in future elections.

He Said this yesterday at Kipkoror, Nandi County during the Funeral event of Henry Kosgei’s wife.

Though he did not disclose the name of the MP, Ruto hinted that the MP comes from his home turf something which elicited speculations.
