Xi and Ruto

President William Ruto has outlined his plan to transform Turkana County, pledging targeted investments aimed at unlocking the region’s vast potential.

He said his administration is keen on addressing long-standing challenges such as water scarcity, insecurity, and poor infrastructure that have slowed down development in the arid and semi-arid county.

Ruto emphasized that Turkana holds immense opportunities in livestock, agriculture, renewable energy, and oil exploration, sectors that if harnessed effectively could uplift livelihoods and create jobs.

His blueprint focuses on expanding irrigation schemes, drilling more boreholes, and enhancing access to clean water for both households and livestock.

The President also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development, promising to improve road networks to open up the region for trade and investment. Additionally, he committed to supporting education and healthcare facilities to raise living standards and bridge regional inequalities.

Ruto noted that transforming Turkana is central to his administration’s broader agenda of inclusive growth, ensuring that no region is left behind in the national development journey.
