Nairobi, Kenya – A married woman has exposed persistent Facebook messages from a man who allegedly ignored her silence and continued sending advances.

Rose Mitei, who shared screenshots of the conversations online, revealed that the man repeatedly sent greetings and affectionate words despite receiving no response. The chats, which spanned several days, showed the man addressing her as “my lovely” and sending strings of heart emojis while attempting to initiate conversations.

Mitei explained that she decided to make the exchanges public after what she termed as harassment. “Naomba heshima,” she wrote, demanding respect after her continued silence failed to discourage the sender.

The incident, which surfaced this week, has since attracted mixed reactions on social media. Some netizens supported her decision to expose the man, saying it highlighted how women are often subjected to unwanted attention online. Others, however, felt she could have simply blocked him instead of going public.

Cases of unsolicited messages have been on the rise with the widespread use of social platforms. Digital rights groups note that women, in particular, face a higher burden of online harassment, ranging from persistent flirting to abusive content.

The exposure of the chats has now sparked wider conversations about boundaries, consent, and respect in online communication, with many urging both men and women to embrace digital etiquette when engaging with strangers on social media
