Annaliza could tell that Robert was not himself.
He looked exhausted, irritated and clearly had no energy for the kind of attention she was trying to give him.
Still, Annaliza was not ready to back away.
She even changed what she had initially planned to wear, seemingly hoping to catch Robert’s attention and lift his mood.
But Robert barely reacted.
He explained that he had not slept the entire night and only wanted to go and rest.
Annaliza, however, moved closer and tried another approach.
She asked him whether he could stay a little longer with her, hoping that she might somehow change his mind.
Instead, Robert became increasingly frustrated.
He reminded her that he had already told her he was tired and wanted to sleep.
When Annaliza continued insisting, Robert finally lost patience and spoke more firmly.
He told her that he was exhausted and simply wanted to be left alone.
The atmosphere immediately changed.
What Annaliza had imagined would bring her closer to Robert had instead pushed him further away.
She was forced to step back as Robert made it clear that he was not interested in pretending everything was fine.
For Annaliza, the moment was difficult to swallow.
