Raila’s Camp led by kileleshwa ward representative Robert Alai on 6th November afternoon resurfaced online with a bold reaction after latest statement from Energy cabinet secretary Davis Chirchir on fuel prices.

Speaking via his official twitter handle, Alai claimed critics of the statement will be dealt with as fight starts.

” Critics will be shot on the streets as fight against these excesses starts”, he wrote.

His statement comes off following Davis Chirchir prediction that petroleum prices will shoot up should the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine persist.

” Price of Super Petrol likely to rise to Sh300 in the coming EPRA fuel price review if the war between Israel and Hamas continues, Energy CS Davis Chirchir says.

However reacting to Davis Chirchir statement, kenyans expressed their views via their official twitter handles as follows:

Albert: Importing oil from Israel or Hamas seems like a convenient scapegoat. Those who support this idea may have ulterior motives to profit from Kenyans, which is unacceptable. We already have a G2G agreement for purchasing fuel in our local currency. Why should Kenyans pay for mistakes they didn’t make? It’s concerning that Ruto and his government might be punishing those who put them in power. RESIGN IF YOU ARE OUT OF IDEAS.

Okango: Your point may be valid, but I am amazed at the lack or disregard for data in decision-making. The Kenya Revenue Authority reported a 12 billion shortfall in fuel revenues. This they said was due to the high fuel prices, which caused ‘non-thieving motorists’ to park their cars.
