A nurse at the Malembeka Village Dispensary located in Bunda District, Mara Region, Zawadi Kazi, has died after being stabbed multiple times on various parts of her body by a man alleged to be her boyfriend, Ndege Makebe, following a domestic dispute.The suspect then reportedly took his own life using a Maasai shuka (sheet).
After committing the act, the suspect fled the scene, and his body was later found hanging from a tree, having died by suicide.
Speaking via phone, the Chairman of Malembeka Village, Ramadhani Sarima, said the nurse was killed on the night of May 1, 2025, at around 10 p.m. in the village, after being stabbed more than ten times in various areas including the neck, abdomen, both sides of the torso, and both breasts, leading to excessive bleeding.
Mara Regional Police Commander, Pius Lutumo, confirmed the incident, stating that police officers were en route to the scene to commence investigations.
