The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has finally broken the silence and offered its condolences to the family and friends of the deputy head teacher who lost his life today after being hit by a helicopter’s blade in Garissa. In a statement released earlier today, KCAA Director General Emile Nguza Arao confirmed the incident and announced that the authority will investigate the matter to determine the cause of the tragic accident.

The incident occurred some hours after two helicopters crashed in separate incidents in Wajir county . One of the helicopters, which belonged to the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), crashed while it was supplying food to flood-affected communities. The other helicopter, which was a civilian-owned aircraft, crashed in a separate incident.

The KCAA Director General expressed his deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased deputy head teacher, describing the incident as a tragic loss of life. He also assured the public that the authority will leave no stone unturned in its investigation to determine the cause of the accident and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

The KCAA statement comes after a day of mourning for Kenyans, who have taken to social media to express their shock and grief over the tragic incident. Many have called for more to be done to ensure the safety of civilians and military personnel who are involved in humanitarian missions
