The police community is mourning the loss of retired senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer Joseph Ngisa.

Ngisa died at Nyangena Mission Hospital in Kisii, where he had been receiving treatment.

 

According to his family, Ngisa succumbed to heart failure after a prolonged struggle with diabetes and high blood pressure.

Following his death, police officers visited his residence and secured his licensed firearm, a CZ pistol, alongside 48 rounds of ammunition. Authorities confirmed that Ngisa held a valid firearm certificate, and the items were collected for safe keeping.

Friends and former colleagues have described Ngisa as a committed and hardworking officer who served the nation with honor. His contribution to the police service was lauded, with many recalling his integrity and leadership throughout his career.

The late Ngisa had dedicated many years to public service before retiring in 2016. At the time of his retirement, he held the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police. He notably served as the head of the DCI unit at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where he was recognized for his professionalism and dedication to duty.

His death is a significant loss to his family, friends, and former colleagues in the service. Prayers and condolences are extended to his family during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
