Kenyan crossdresser and digital content creator Kelvin Kinuthia has sparked heated debate after announcing plans to undergo a uterus transplant.
The revelation, shared through an Instagram post, left fans surprised and questioning the feasibility of such a procedure in Kenya. Kinuthia wrote, “Life is so private; no one knows I’m getting a UTX surgery soon,” confirming his intentions.
A uterus transplant (UTx) is a highly complex surgery where a healthy uterus is transplanted from a donor to a recipient who cannot conceive naturally.
While the operation has been carried out in women across the world, the possibility of performing it on transgender women remains largely experimental, with no recorded successful cases yet.
Kinuthia’s announcement has therefore drawn mixed reactions—support from some fans who view it as groundbreaking, and skepticism from others who dismissed it as unrealistic.
