Brazilian socialite, influencer and content creator Roseli Fernandes Vieira has died just a day after undergoing a cosmetic procedure, leaving her family, friends and thousands of followers in shock.
Roseli, who was 48 years old, passed away on May 26 shortly after receiving a buttock enhancement treatment that reportedly involved polymethylmethacrylate, commonly known as PMMA. The cosmetic filler is often used in aesthetic procedures, although concerns about its safety have been raised over the years.
According to local reports, Roseli spent the equivalent of about KSh 1.2 million on the procedure. Less than 24 hours later, she reportedly began experiencing severe pain at home.
Her daughter is said to have informed investigators that Roseli contacted her doctor after her condition worsened. She was advised to return to the clinic where the procedure had been carried out. However, she reportedly lost consciousness while on the way there.
CCTV footage later showed Roseli arriving at the clinic unconscious. People at the facility rushed to assist her and placed her in a wheelchair, but efforts to help her were unsuccessful.
Authorities in Brazil have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death. Officials have reportedly classified the case as suspicious while awaiting the outcome of further inquiries. Her doctor has already recorded a statement with police, while lawyers representing the clinic maintain that there is currently no confirmed evidence linking the cosmetic procedure directly to her death.
News of Roseli’s sudden passing has sparked an outpouring of grief online. Many fans expressed sadness and shared messages calling on people to embrace their natural appearance rather than risk dangerous cosmetic procedures.
Roseli had built a strong online presence through beauty and makeup content and was followed by more than 100,000 people across social media platforms. Her death has reignited conversations about cosmetic surgery risks and patient safety in the beauty industry.
