Darwesh

In the Kenyan city of Mombasa, Darwesh Ahmed was born in 1977. It was his home and his upbringing. Following his time at Kikowani Primary School, he attended Tudor Day School. He pursued a degree in mass communication at Mombasa Polytechnic. Ahmed was one of twelve children raised in a household.

After working his way up to the KTN Swahili news desk, he started off as a broadcaster on Pwani Fm. Ahmed was a natural at making small conversation and double-checking the news for accuracy. Ahmed was not only a television personality but also an avid writer and poet. His articles were published in the Nairobian newspaper.

Apart from his role as an anchor, he pursued a career in business. He would drive a few of his colleagues to his South B eatery for lunch, then bring enough food back for the rest of them, according to Nairobi News.

When Ahmed Darwesh passed away in the morning on December 15, 2015, news of his passing shocked the entire nation. At just 38 years old, he was extremely youthful. His lengthy fight with diabetes came to an end, and he passed away quietly in his South B home.
