Kenyan actor and filmmaker Brian Kabugi, commonly known as Real Bugi, is launching his highly awaited film, Mid Young Crisis.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Bugi stated that this was more than simply a film, but the reality that young people confront on a daily basis.
The film, which will premiere at Anga Diamond Cinema and Diamond Plaza on October 11, features a young ensemble.
The highly anticipated film, which opens on Saturday, October 11, at Anga Diamond Cinema, Diamond Plaza 2, continues where the popular YouTube serial Mid Young Crisis left off.
It delves further into the lives of Gen Z protagonists as they grapple with complex realities such as internet pressure and emotional fragility.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Bugi, the film’s writer, principal actor, and director, stated that it was more than simply a film; it was a reality that most young people experience nowadays.
Bugi stated that he understands his character’s journey from friendship to the relationships he develops in the film.
“For this, we sought to dig deep with the writing, even highlighting issues like childhood traumas, as you can see in Bugi and Makena’s interactions.
I believe that his inability to cope with what is occurring to him today is identical to my own experience as a Gen Z at this period.
The story also emphasizes the importance of friendship and community. I always have my guys with me. Also, the truth of relationships, moving on, reconciling, and not understanding how to truly go on.”
