Boaz Ogeto died while in the US, and the differences between his widow and in-laws emerged The family repatriated his body without informing his wife, a clear sign that they had major differences.Boaz’s brother had a run-in with the widow after his body was lowered into the grave.
The drama that ensued after the death of a Kisii man who died in the US is still making waves on social media. Boaz Ogeto’s family and his wife had a disagreement.
What happened at Boaz Ogeto’s burial? Boaz Ogeto died abroad after battling cancer, and his death brought to the fore the rift between his wife and family. His wife and friends in Kenya organised a fundraiser and collected KSh 1.5 million to repatriate the body.
However, the team was surprised to discover that Ogeto’s body had already been covertly transported back to Kenya, days before the date the family had communicated to them.
His wife, June Angel, was not involved, and the differences with family were evident during a church service. June’s father-in-law reprimanded her, accusing her of soiling her mother-in-law’s name publicly and asking her to take their grandson to Kisii. Footage from the gravesite showed a run-in between June and a man said to be Boaz’s brother.
A spade was held out for the family members to throw soil into Boaz’s grave. June carried her son next to Boaz’s brother. When it was her turn to throw soil, Boaz’s brother stopped her by holding her hand. She protested as her in-law pushed her son’s hand so the young boy could throw the soil instead.
However, June pulled his hand back. As she left, Boaz’s brother tried taking the boy from her but she refused and walked away. The video fuelled speculation as to what was happening within the family. bibiye mokogoti: “Boaz’s mum was keen to see if she would throw soil into the grave. If you know the culture you know.”
Sherry: “But Boaz loved her. Why did they treat her in this manner?” shila bless: “Someone tell me what happened to Boaz and why they hate the wife?” CAROLINE GOLD MUSIC HQ: “The brother was stopping her from throwing the soil.” Shiko: “Someone tell me- what would have happened if she threw the soil?” Mufassa…: “Where’s the full clip after here? Why torment the widow?”
Nancy_B: “It looks like they want to remain with the child. Hell no. June if worse comes to worst go to court. You have every right to your child and it’s in the best interest of the child.” Geoffrey manyara: “I am with the wife. It seems the family has already written her off.” Tiger the girl: “I was at the memorial service in Nairobi and she refused to view the body.”
