Kirubi was born into a poor family, and his parents died when he was young.

He began work while still in school, working during school holidays to support himself and his siblings. Upon graduation, his first job was as a salesman, repairing and selling gas cylinders for Shell, the petroleum conglomerate.[8]

Before he died he had flaunted photos of his mansion in Benhard Estate, Nairobi. The billionaire lives like a King in one of the richest estates in Nairobi. His house, which he built more than half a decade ago stands on a two acre piece of land and is among the most expensive houses in Nairobi.

Kirubi’s estimated net worth as at 2016 is Ksh 60 billion, but the billionaire has assets which amount to more than his estimated wealthy.

The house itself is a two-storey behemoth constructed with the right amount of intertwined glass and brick into an architectural marvel.

His house has a rare design and accommodates a pub, swimming pool, an office, gym and several bedrooms.

The mansion is likened to Kidero’s houses in Muthaiga, which is very magnificent.

It has well-manicured lawns with gazebos for entertaining guests outdoors.

Inside the house, is classy furniture sitting at the centre of a well-designed interior with golden lighting and luxe cucurtains.
