Raila Odinga’s daughter, Rosemary Odinga, shared some warm memories about her father, calling him a man who truly understood her and her whole family. She spoke during a tribute to her father at the Nyayo National Stadium on Friday, October 17, 2025. Rosemary, who is known as Rozie in the family, said it has been hard for her to accept her father’s passing.
She said, “Today is a very painful day for me.
Baba was a father to all of us, and I know you all feel the same pain we do.”
She added, “To me, he was my adviser, my friend, and someone who really understood me, along with my kids and my brothers and sisters.”
Rozie mentioned that she found out about her father’s death from his brother, Raila Junior.
She also said the feeling of losing her dad is still shared by many Kenyans, and she thanked the country for supporting them during this sad time.
