Bunge la Wananchi activist and outspoken supporter of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Nuru Okanga, has stirred fresh debate after claiming that Raila appeared to him in a dream, directing him to retrieve items buried with him.

Speaking on Saturday, November 1, 2025, Okanga announced the formation of what he calls the “Raila Still Breathing Movement,” a campaign he says is aimed at honoring what he terms as Raila’s “unfinished mission.”

In his statement shared across social media platforms, Okanga narrated that Raila appeared to him “glowing like the morning light over Lake Victoria.”

He claims Raila asked him to recover a tie and a hat buried alongside him, saying these items were symbolically tied to his legacy and should be returned to the people.

Okanga has vowed to file a formal petition seeking exhumation of the items, a move that is already sparking mixed reactions among Raila’s supporters, religious leaders, and legal experts.
