President Ruto who is currently in Egypt for climate change forum has landed a lucrative deal with the United Kingdom government for the benefit of investment in the country.
While speaking through his twitter account, the first in command said that Kenya welcomes the decision by the United Kingdom to monitor green investments in the country, he further mentioned that he commits to further cooperation in areas of regional peace, security, energy, agriculture and infrustracture.
“Kenya welcomes the decision by United Kingdom to fast-track new green investments in the country. We commit to further our cooperation, particularly in the areas of regional peace and security, energy, agriculture and infrastructure.” he stated
However this deals turns out to be the best for the country since the UK government has invested 500 billion shillings to ensure that the country gets back to its economic stability. Meanwhile, the UK prime minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of COP27 in Egypt has also agreed that they will invest 500 billion to support Kenya’s climate action in agriculture, transport and green energy.
