President William Samoei Ruto has finally spoken out following the strong performance of his political camp in yesterday’s series of by-elections. His faction clinched six seats across the country, a success that includes several Members of Parliament and one Senatorial position. The victories were confirmed shortly after vote counting concluded in the various affected constituencies.

Through his official social media accounts, President Ruto issued a congratulatory message to all the successful candidates. He specifically celebrated the wins of David Ndakwa of Malava, Leonard Wamuthende of Mbeere North, Ahmed Hassan of Banisa, Vincent Chemitei who secured the Baringo senatorial seat, Moses Omondi of Ugunja, Harrison Kombe of Magarini, and Boyd Were of Kasipul. The President accompanied these messages with images of the newly elected leaders, highlighting their achievement and the significance of the day’s results.

In his address, President Ruto emphasized the broader political meaning of the outcomes. He stated that the triumphs serve as a reminder of the collective strength the nation possesses when its people choose unity over division. According to him, the success of his broad-based political team demonstrates the potential of collaborative governance and the value of national cohesion. Many observers have interpreted his message as both a celebration of his camp’s influence and a call for the country to maintain a united front, particularly during politically charged seasons.

These by-elections followed days of intense campaigns and high voter interest, marked by isolated incidents of unrest, heavy security deployments, and dramatic moments during tallying. The contests largely pitted a consolidated opposition front against the President’s expansive political alliance, creating high stakes in each of the involved regions.

President Ruto believes the results reflect a clear and convincing endorsement of his team, further strengthening their political standing across different counties. While the victories serve as a significant boost for his administration, the President also noted that winning an election marks the beginning of responsibility, not celebration. He urged the newly elected leaders to immediately focus on delivering essential services and ensuring that their constituents receive the development and attention they were promised during the campaign period.
