Woman Representative Betty Maina has given her social media followers a rare glimpse into her family life after sharing a photo of herself with her newborn baby.
Maina posted the touching picture on Tuesday evening, September 22, showing her holding and breastfeeding her child. The post offered followers a personal look at the legislator away from her public and political responsibilities.
Accompanying the photograph was a short and playful caption celebrating her new experience as a mother.
“Toto lala,” Maina wrote before teasing her followers for failing to congratulate her on the arrival of the baby.
“You guys have never congratulated us,” she added.

Maina is married to Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi. The couple reportedly met during campaigns ahead of the 2022 General Election, after which their relationship grew.
In April 2023, Wamumbi proposed to Maina, and Maina publicly accepted the proposal. The two later celebrated their union through a traditional wedding ceremony held in Murang’a on November 18, 2023.
Their wedding ceremony was attended by several prominent political figures, including President William Ruto and then Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Since their marriage, the couple has remained in the public spotlight, particularly because both are elected representatives.
