Celebrated Kenyan media personality Stephen Maunda, who is famously known as Shatta Bway, has announced that he has called it quits with TV47.

The talented Reggae host who is also an emcee, infact made the announcement in a post that he made on his Facebook account on Saturday, the 3rd of May.

In the post, Shatta Bway further revealed that he had also left his job at the sister station Radio 47 and also Maybets, where he used to work as the Director of Projects and Strategy.

The media personality revealed that he had quit his job today, and further made it clear that he was grateful for the opportunity that he was given by his bosses at Cape Media to serve in those roles.

 

Shatta Bway further wished TV47, Radio 47 and Mybets the very best in their future endeavors.

Speaking about his future, the multi-talented media personality hinted that he will be going back to radio, because most of his fans had been demanding for that.

Shatta Bway however left his fans guessing about the radio station that he was going to join next, because he never revealed it.

He just told his fans to stay tuned and wait for the day when he will make that announcement officially.

 

“Shatta Generals. 6 years ago I switched on a Microphone and introduced you to The Shatta Bway and yoh Guys became Family instantly. You’ve been with me through thick and thin, the Highs and Lows of Life.

Today I have made another decision. I have Officially Left Cape Media (TV & Radio 47 and Mybets) I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and genuine desire to see Cape Media so even higher.

Mlisema Shatta Rudi kwa Radio Daily na nimewasikiliza so stay tuned for the next chapter…Mtapenda Thanks for being loyal Soldiers in the Shatta Army. MWORE LIFE!!!” He said.

 

It should be noted that Shatta Bway has actually left Cape Media after working there for just a year.

The popular Reggae host actually joined the media house in March 2024, and this was after he had left his job at Radio Citizen, where he had hosted the show dubbed ‘Waks Tikitaka’ for 5 years.

 

While at TV47, Shatta Bway used to host the Reggae show dubbed ‘TV47 Irie Vibes’, that aired on Saturdays from 10 PM.

He was also a presenter at Radio 47 and also the Director of Projects and Strategy of Mybets.
